Recognizing our uniqueness as teachers in Catholic schools, we are an Association committed to the advancement of Catholic education.
As teacher advocates we provide professional services, support, protection and leadership.
Your local release officers, Patrick Etmaski, Simon Dallimore, Ed Wyse and Jeannette Cowen, along with two local executive members, Dorothea Kruger and Kelly Tronko, joined other OECTA representatives from across South Western Ontario on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week to discuss concerns with mental health and supports available to teachers. This was a very informative day and a half. Topics around mindfulness, supporting members, employer's obligation to accomodate and how to identify those at risk lead to rich discussions and excellent resources.
Two excellent resources are listed below. Please take a few minutes to have a look. In addition, please contact a release officer at OECTA Waterloo if you would like to discuss any additional supports.
